Integrated General Ledger System (IGLAS) Project via subcontract with PriceWaterhouseCoopers under contract with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The primary goal of the project was to identify a strategy to improve CMS’s financial management systems as part of CMS’s continuing effort of implementing the 1990 Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) Act and to achieve and maintain a clear audit opinion on CMS’s annual Financial Statements. The IGLAS Project had three objectives in developing the system strategy: 1) provide for consistent and auditable accounting transaction for Medicare claims benefit payments, 2) integrate accounting and financial management data throughout CMS and the Medicare contractor’s environment 3) improve CMS’s internal financial management systems by providing timely and accurate financial data to make business decisions. NCCG provided Medicare Subject Matter Experts knowledgeable of claims and financial transaction processing for each of the three standard Medicare systems: Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS), VIPS Medicare Claims system (VMS) and Multi-Carrier System (MCS). |
